Bio
Filipino-American baritone Mc Jefferson Agloro most recently received recognition as the winner of the Lucy Becker Memorial Scholarship Competition. He has also appeared as Papageno in Mozart's Die Zauberflöte, Gianni Schicchi in Puccini's Gianni Schicchi, and Dr. Falke in Strauss' Die Fledermaus.
In addition to his operatic performances, Mr. Agloro has also been featured on the concert stage. He has performed as the baritone soloist in John Rutter's Mass of the Children and Fauré's Requiem in D minor. He has demonstrated his versatility on the recital stage by delighting audiences with music from composers such as Mozart, Puccini, Schubert, Fauré, Mendelssohn, Ravel, R. Quilter, and J. Duke.
Mr. Agloro has obtained increasing recognition as a vocalist by placing in the Robert S. Dinsmore Opera Scholarship Competition (Sacramento, CA) and Opera Modesto's Kristina Townsend Memorial Competition (Modesto, CA). He has also been honored by receiving the William and Lois Drieslein Memorial Scholarship.
Mc Jefferson Agloro received his Bachelor of Music Degree in Vocal Performance from California State University, Sacramento. During his undergraduate studies, Mr. Agloro studied voice with Ryan De Boer, Dr. Robin Fisher, Malcolm MacKenzie, and Julie Miller.
